HARBORS ON THE SQUAM

A BOUTIQUE WATERFRONT PROJECT

Less than a year ago, a lifetime in many things but an eye-blink in development, I identified a piece of property that had just come on the market. It was a waterfront property, always desirable, but with some idiosyncracies and characteristics that could be challenging. It was a riverfront property that had been on the market previously, but was back on now at a very appealing price. I called my builder clients, and the rest is history.

Today we are happy to be bringing “Harbors on The Squam” to the buying public. And while you can find all the information you want at harborsonthesquam.com, I thought I would take a few moments to provide a quick update.

As of today, August 29th, the framing has begun. We are probably three weeks away from the homes being up. At that point we will get a real sense of their size and functionality. I am extremely optimistic that the homes will be wonderful, as you can see from the renderings below.

Some of the specifications of these new homes will include a 2-car attached garage, four bedrooms including a spacious first floor primary suite, modern open concept living space, quartz countertops, high-end flooring, a finished basement, and a bonus room above the garage. There will be almost 2500 square feet of finished space in these wonderful new homes.

Soon after the framing is completed the docks will be installed and I am thrilled to say that we will have a boat on-site so that I can show prospective buyers the beauty of the river and the lake beyond. I think people will be surprised at the appeal of the property, and will understand that the river itself is a great natural resource full of canoeing and kayaking opportunities, replete with fish and wildlife and the natural abundance of the Squam ecosystem. And ten minutes away? Squam.

Squam River

If things go according to plan (and why wouldn’t they?!) the homes will be finished in the late winter/early spring of 2025. This will give two lucky buyers and their friends and families an incredible opportunity to begin making a lifetime of memories on New Hampshire’s most desirable body of water.

One thing I always like to mention when I am talking about this wonderful project is how perfectly these new homes fit into the Squam environment. These are lake-style homes, modern to be sure, but of a timeless style and with attention to details that say “camp at the lake” rather than “waterfront McMansion.” The lots are huge by the standards of waterfront development. Care was taken to preserve their wild nature, with soaring pines and hemlocks dominating the sky and native shrubs and saplings protecting the shoreline. The geese still call it home, the ducks still fly by, and the eagles still climb the warm breeze above it all.

At Lacasse & Avery we are proud of this small project. We hope that the families that we are helping bring to the Lake are welcomed into the Squam community and that they and their families enjoy living here as much as we do.
